Hello Free Union friends and families,
We think about all of you so much -- imagining what you might be doing within the smaller confines of home and hearth and hoping that all are well and safe. We find that although we'd rather see each other in the same room, Zooming in and glimpsing puppies, goats, science experiments, and the faces of our kids lifts our spirits every time. We had a thought.
There are daily drawing lessons, doodles with Mo Willems, and a Quarantine Art Club, to name several.
Free Union continues to offer instruction and facilitate learning for our students, only now from afar. Teachers in each grade gather students online for morning meeting, hold classes, set office hours, and encourage learning and engagement in new ways.
Visit the camp page, download and print the form, and drop it off at the office; or mail it to PO Box 250, Free Union, VA 22940.
February 29 is the day our founders met in the basement of the Free Union Baptist Church to take the first bold steps toward creating the parent-run Free Union Country School. This year we celebrated 36 years with a wonderful fine and performing arts festival (a gift to us from all our students) and our most successful auction fundraiser ever (a gift from our parents). Thanks to those who gave to these landmark endeavors, then and now.
