ISM is dedicated to the advancement of school management and the enrichment of the student experience. We provide creative strategies by combining extensive research, proven management techniques, and personalized service.
The Community Foundation was established in 1967 as an engine for positive change in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson and Orange. We work with local residents, non-profits, as well as public and private organizations to facilitate philanthropy and improve the quality of life in our area.
PEN believes that the purpose of education transcends preparation for college or career. Schools nurture citizens in an increasingly diverse democracy. Within the complexities of education theory, practice, policy, and politics, we promote a vision of progressive education for the 21st century that engages students as active participants in their learning and in society.
Charlottesville Area Independent Schools (CAIS)
Charlottesville Area Independent Schools (CAIS) is composed of member schools with the goal of supporting our partnerships with each other and our surrounding community. As a group we value the diversity of educational opportunities that we offer through collaboration, shared resources, and sponsored community events that highlight the value of an independent school education.
In the service of strengthening nonprofits to realize the potential of the community, we provide education, consulting, and resources to create strong leaders, effective managers, and healthy collaborators. Our philosophy is to lead by example.
