Environmental Education

Children working in nature journals as a groupThe Environmental Education program at Free Union aims to create an environmentally conscious student body while allowing students to make a deeper connection with nature through exploration, questioning, journaling, art, play, and discovery. As budding young naturalists, students in kindergarten through fifth grade examine the school yard, their local Charlottesville community, and finally their watershed, all the while developing useful problem solving skills and establishing core routines that will help them live with uderstanding and responsibility.
